‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, BusinessObjects version

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and in Hasso’s old house

No clicking was heard from any keyboard or mouse

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care

All except for Lèo, whose name wasn’t there

The developers were nestled all snug in their beds

While visions of HANA quickly danced in their heads

Hagemann Snabe is his slippers, and McDermott in bed attire

Had just settled the debate on who would speak first at Sapphire

When out on the lawn there arose such a noise

It was yet another protest from the Xcelsius girls and boys

They wanted gifts, too, just like those on ERPs

“Give us groundbreaking products and support, if you please”

And then to their wondering eyes did appear

A magical crystal fairy who spoke of the New Year

“Don’t worry, BOBJ fans, I’ve got a plan for your blues,

“And soon I’ll announce it in the ASUG News”

Now onwards Dashboards, Explorer, and WebI

Pioneer, Voyager, and something called DeskI

BusinessObjects will survive, whatever the name

That is, as long as you play SAP’s game

So march to the beat, dance to the drum

And watch what BusinessObjects will become

As the fairy drank champagne and flew out a sight, she said,

“BOBJ is part of the family. I’m sure it will be all right.”
